Creating a virtual business card & sending mail via a distribution list

Call up Microsoft Outlook 2000:

 

Go to Contacts by clicking on the icon in the left panel:

 

Now you are ready to provide as much info about yourself as desired:

 

Click on , fill in all 5  pages:

 

After you , right-click on your personal contact, and forward as vCard:

 

Type in the recipient’s e-mail address, then click on the  icon:

 

On the other hand, when you received vCards in the Inbox of Outlook:

 

Double-click on the e-mail item to reveal the attached vCards at the bottom:

 

Select all vCards by holding down the Shift key, clicking on the first then the last one:

 

Drag any of the highlighted vCards into the Contacts folder:

 

The Contacts folder now has the three new vCards:

 

You can create a new distribution list by first selecting the Actions menu:

 

Invent a Name for your distribution list, then click on Select Members:

 

Select any number of entries in your Contacts or other folders, then click Add:

 

After adding members from all relevant folders, click on OK:

 

Click on Save and Close:

 

The distribution list Classmates is now just an entry (but not vCard) in Contacts folder:

 

You can send e-mail to all your classmates by clicking on New while in Inbox:

 

In the To box, just type Classmates as if it is a regular e-mail address:

 

When you leave the To box, Outlook bold-faces and underlines the address Classmates:
